I started blogging about 4 months ago. My reasoning for 'blogging,' at first was to provide 'added value' to my clients in the world of media - on - demand. I do believe that it did exactly that, however the personal rewards (and I do not mean $$$) did not equal the amount of time spent creating the blog posts.
I needn't tell anyone who happens to read this how challenging it can be to not only maintain a blog, but to keep it fresh and stimulating. I also know that there are many different reasons one might keep a weblog. One might be for industry news, i.e. realtors, financial analysts, etc. - anything that is contingent on a 'market condition.' Another, which is my premise, is to photograph one's life in realtime. I believe the phrase 'lifestream' has become the flavor of the day according to bloggers, tweeters, facebookers, plurkers... you get the idea.
While my enthusiasm waned about my 'added value to clients' blog, it started to occur to me, that I was not being myself. I know that from time to time, we all have to be prudent or act a certain part in some way shape or form, but blogging is writing - and writing must be heartfelt. The reward of blogging is the therapy of writing - if you do not know what this is, perhaps you have never written.
So... Let it be sung - this blog is about - Personal Branding - this is who I am. I will make no attempts to be an expert in something I am not, I will make no attempts to spin sell you, I will, however divulge my true self. My true self, at this point lives in a sleepy town in Florida with a wonderful dog named Ruby. My true self is not in love with a woman today, but... as John Lennon said... Tomorrow Never Knows...
I have several blogs that I like to read... I will post them to my 'list' as they arise, however I would like to point to a particular post that struck me to do this in the first place. Her name is Rebecca Thorman. Please read this. If you don't understand why streaming your life is even marginally important, read... and you soon will.
I look forward to digging deeper into my life as it streams on, and I hope you come along...
